Jets Roster Analysis: Who Is Shelby Harris?

As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Shelby Harris.

Year With Jets: 1st

Projected Role: Camp body competing for a backup defensive line spot

His 2015: The 2014 seventh round pick of the Raiders spent his second NFL season bouncing between the Oakland practice squad and active roster. The Raiders waived him shortly after the 2016 NFL Draft, and he caught on with the Jets.

2016 will be a success if: Harris finds his way onto the 53 man roster and manages to stay there for the entire season. Given the amount of defensive line talent the Jets have, this would be a tremendous accomplishment. Of course, the amount of defensive line talent the Jets have is exactly what makes this scenario seem unlikely on paper.

Odds of making the roster: Longshot (under 25%)
