Which Jets Have Worn Number 78?

As we approach the season, we are going to count down the history of Jets jersey numbers along with some of the notable players to wear each number. Today we will look at number 78.

Unlike many of the other numbers in our countdown, the Jets don't really have a number 78 who sticks out in their history. Garry Puetz is the all-time team leader in AV wearing number 78. He was a four year starter on the offensive line in the early 1970's, but he was never a Pro Bowler.

Barry Bennett was a defensive lineman on the team from 1982 to 1988. He was overshadowed by his teammates on the New York Sack Exchange.

Jim Harris and Jim Klotz played for the franchise in the AFL days. For Wayne Hunter, the less said, the better. Jonathan Goodwin had a successful NFL career, but he only started to shine after he left the Jets.

The most recent number 78 for the Jets was Leger Douzable, who wore the number from 2013 to 2015.
