As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Brent Qvale.
Name: Brent Qvale
Number: 79
Year With Jets: 2nd
Projected Role: Backup tackle and guard
His 2015: Qvale was part of the mix competing for right guard in training camp, but he was beaten out for the spot by Willie Colon. He also was unable to earn the top backup spot, which went to Brian Winters. There has been a little bit of buzz about the Jets liking Qvale, but that doesn't always pan out.
2016 will be a success if: Qvale makes the team, earns playing time, and is effective. He is a total blank slate. There is opportunity, though. The right guard spot is open. To sign Ryan Fitzpatrick, the Jets will need to clear some salary space. It is conceivable Breno Giacomini could be on his way out, opening a spot at right tackle.
Odds of making the roster: Probable (between 75% and 99%)
