As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Jalin Marshall.
Name: Jalin Marshall
Number: 89
Year With Jets: 1st
Projected Role: Camp body competing for a return role
His 2015: The running back/wide receiver was mainly used in a pass catching role, recording 36 receptions for 477 yards, and 5 touchdowns. He then somewhat surprisingly declared for the NFL Draft as an early entrant. He went undrafted and was signed by the Jets.
2016 will be a success if: Marshall makes the roster and sticks all year long. His path to the roster is likely in the special teams game. He was a successful punt returner in college. The Jets certainly need an upgrade to their special teams. There is an open punt return spot. Can Marshall's skills translate? The Jets have a tortured recent history with rookie punt returners from Justin Miller to Kyle Wilson to Jeremy Kerley to Jalen Saunders.
Odds of making the roster: Unlikely (between 25-50%)
