Sheldon Richardson suspended for first game of 2016

The NFL has finally made their decision on Sheldon Richardson, suspending him for Week 1 of 2016 vs. the Bengals.

This suspension stems from an incident that occurred last year, where Richardson was arrested for allegedly street racing. According to the police report, he was also found with a loaded handgun and the vehicle smelled of marijuana, however the gun was properly registered to Richardson and no marijuana was found in the vehicle. In January, Richardson pled guilty to reduced charges and was sentenced to 2 years probation and 100 hours of community service.

All things considered, especially with a previous suspension on his resume, this punishment isn't as severe as I expected.
