Jets Roster Analysis: Can Titus Davis Carve Out a Role?

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Titus Davis

Name: Titus Davis

Number: 84

Year With Jets: 2nd

Projected Role: Competing for a roster spot at wide receiver

His 2015: Davis broke some of Antonio Brown's school records in college at Central Michigan, but that did not help him get drafted. After missing the cut with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent, Davis spent two stints on the Jets' practice squad with a brief stint on the Bills' practice squad in between. The Jets cut him twice, but they apparently liked him enough to provide a camp spot in 2016.

2016 will be a success if: Davis makes the team and helps the special teams unit. His only viable path to the roster is probably to become a special teams ace. He had some experience as a return man in college but was unremarkable. Perhaps he can show something on the coverage teams. For his sake, he might have to do just that.

Odds of making the roster: Longshot (<25%)
