As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Eric Decker.
Name: Eric Decker
Number: 87
Year With Jets: 3rd
Projected Role: Starting wide receiver working mainly out of the slot; second option in passing game
His 2015: After a somewhat disappointing first year with the Jets, Decker justified the money the Jets gave him as a free agent and more. Decker found a move to the slot, better health (after an early season injury at least), better quarterback play, and especially Brandon Marshall drawing attention were a recipe for success. He ended the season with 80 catches, 1,027 yards, and 12 touchdowns while reclaiming his spot in the discussion for best second banana in the league.
2016 will be a success if: Decker has a comparable year to the one he had in 2015. It is important for the offense that he produces in a big way.
Odds of making the roster: Lock (>99%)
