With the NFL Draft done, what does the current depth chart for the Jets look like on offense? If the season began today, these would likely be the starters.
QB | Geno Smith |
RB | Matt Forte |
WR | Brandon Marshall |
WR | Eric Decker |
WR | Kenbrell Thompkins |
TE | Jace Amaro |
LT | Ryan Clady |
LG | James Carpenter |
C | Nick Mangold |
RG | Brian Winters |
RT | Breno Giacomini |
Now a starting lineup only means so much. The Jets have guys who will see plenty of snaps as the team adapts personnel. Not every job is a lock.
At quarterback, Smith would lose the starting job instantly if Ryan Fitzpatrick re-signs.
I think Thompkins currently holds the third receiver spot due to Devin Smith's injury situation.
The Jets insisted Amaro would be a h-back type last year rather than a traditional tight end. I see him getting the most snaps at the position with so little supporting talent on the team, though.
The entire right side of the line is also a question mark. Any number of young players could potentially take the starting job away from Winters, while Giacomini is still a potential salary cap casualty.
