Shortly before the NFL Draft, a report came out that quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was considering retiring if he did not get the type of contract he wanted. It did not seem likely the report was accurate. It felt like posturing in contract negotiations since the Jets were the only team interested and were not budging off their demands. Yesterday in an interview with Sirius Radio, Fitzpatrick ended any discussion of a possible retirement.

Last week Ian Rapoport said that today might be a deadline for a deal, but the Jets have said in public that they view training camp as the real deadline. At some point, it feels like something is going to get done. We will just have to wait until then.
