Jets Roster Analysis: Can Josh Martin Give the Jets Another Ivy League Success Story?

New, comments

As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Josh Martin.

Name: Josh Martin

Number: 95

Year With Jets: 2nd

Projected Role: Camp body competing for a roster spot at outside linebacker

His 2015: Martin was part of four organizations in 2015. His original NFL team, the Chiefs waived him in September. He then had a short stint with Tampa Bay followed by a brief strech on the Colts practice squad. The Jets signed the Columbia University product to their practice squad in November.

2016 will be a success if: Martin makes the roster for the Jets and actually finds a meaningful role with playing time. Martin was an undrafted product out of the Ivy League so nobody could have expected an immediate NFL impact. We are well past the point of immediate impacts, though. He is starting his fourth professional season. Martin either needs to show he can be a contributor, or his career will not last much longer.

Odds of making the roster: Long Shot (less than 25%)
