Over the weekend, there were reports of progress in trade discussions between the Broncos and 49ers over Colin Kaepernick. It seems the talks have stalled over money.

Kaepernick's $11.9 million salary is now fully guaranteed. When you have that kind of money guaranteed, why would you give up one cent? The questions here are how much of that salary the 49ers are willing to eat and how much the Broncos will ultimately be willing to take on.
In the meantime, this keeps the Broncos in the market for a quarterback. That gives Ryan Fitzpatrick another suitor and incentive to stay on the market.
