Jordan Jenkins Pick Approval Rating

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Lost in the shuffle of the Jets drafting their latest quarterback of the future last night, Gang Green added another player to its linebacking corps. In the third round, the team drafted Jordan Jenkins out of Georgia. The team was interested enough in him to send Todd Bowles and Kacy Rodgers to his campus for a private workout.

While I am not happy with the pick the Jets made in the second round, I really like the two selections that sandwiched it. Jordan Jenkins is a prospect I liked entering the Draft. In some ways, I liked him better than his higher touted teammate Leonard Floyd. I think Jenkins is a better athlete than people give him credit for being.

At the very least, I could see him being an effective complementary piece of a defense setting the edge, but I think he could develop into a decent pass rusher.
