Free agent quarterback Brian Hoyer has visited with the Jets, but he will visit the Denver Broncos, another team in search of a quarterback.
#Jets remain interested, but Hoyer will still take visit with the #Broncos, source said.

This is no great surprise. I do not doubt the Jets have some degree of interest in Hoyer, but not pushing to sign him is an indication he remains a fallback option in case the team is unable to retain Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Perhaps Hoyer's visit to Denver can push the Fitzpatrick situation in the right direction. The Broncos might be the only other conceivable destination at this point in time for Fitz. If Denver signed Hoyer, it would presumably take that team out of the Fitzpatrick sweepstakes. Maybe at that point, he would finally fold his cards and cut a deal to return to the Jets.
