Recent mock drafts seem to love the idea of the Jets taking quarterback Paxton Lynch in the first round. That trend continues.
20. New York Jets - Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis
This is probably the latest that Lynch falls in the first round. If he's on the board, it would be smart of the Jets to take him. Geno Smith just hasn't worked out as planned, and Ryan Fitzpatrick still hasn't been brought back. Lynch has a solid release and the size and athleticism to be molded into a good signal caller.
20. New York Jets (10-6): Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis, Jr.
He's 6-foot-7, can move, and he can sling it. The Jets could move up to get the quarterback the Rams don't take at No. 1. If Lynch is sitting here at 20 and Ryan Fitzpatrick's still playing hardball, why not?
51. New York Jets: Kenny Clark, DT, UCLA, Jr.
20. New York Jets
Leonard Floyd, OLB, Georgia: In their scheme, they need outside edge rushers and Floyd has that type of ability. He's the right pick.
