Every year, SB Nation bloggers come together for a mock draft. Bloggers serve as general manager for their teams. Our own GangGreenMag represented the Jets. After grabbing linebacker Darron Lee in the first round, he fortified the offensive line in the second round.
The offensive line has been neglected by the Jets for quite some time. In 2006, NY drafted both D’Brickashaw Ferguson and Nick Mangold in the 1st round; Since then, the only other pick in the top 3 rounds, was Vlad Ducasse. In that 10-year period, there has been a parade of ineffective veterans, marching into roles bigger than themselves. The retirement of Brick marks the end of an era. In this draft, it also marks the end to an era of shunning O-linemen in the early rounds.
Coleman is an interesting prospect. There are some that think he should have stayed in school to fine tune his game another year, but he is already 24. After beating back cancer, Shon has fought to become a very good tackle for Auburn. For the Jets, he can become an instant upgrade to Breno Giacomini. Coleman would bring some consistency to the run game, where there was almost none in 2015.
