Paxton Lynch to the Jets is gaining momentum in recent mock drafts.
20. New York Jets: Paxton Lynch (QB Memphis)—Offensive coordinator Chan Gailey was able to get more out of QB Ryan Fitzpatrick than anyone thought possible because he is known for playing to the strengths of his quarterbacks. That’s perfect for Lynch who is coming out of an Air Raid-style college offense and will need training wheels to start his NFL career. Though he’s not plug-and-play ready, Lynch is (by far) my favorite quarterback prospect in this class and the Jets would be lucky if Lynch is on the board.
20. New York Jets
Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis: If Lynch is still available at this point in the first round, pick No. 20 could be the sweet spot for a trade … unless the Jets, who brought the Memphis quarterback in for a visit, see the future of the franchise with Lynch
51. New York Jets
Le'Raven Clark, OT, Texas Tech: The Jets added Ryan Clady, but his injury history will keep offensive tackle on the team's list of needs.
83. New York Jets
Ryan Smith, CB, North Carolina Central: Smith is flying under the radar, but the Jets have shown interest in the “small school” cornerback.
118. New York Jets – Blake Martinez, LB, Stanford
235. New York Jets – Drew Kaser, PT, Texas A&M
241. New York Jets – Alex McCalister, DE/OLB, Florida
John McClain and Aaron Wilson (Houston Chronicle)
McClain: Leonard Floyd, OLB, Georgia.
Wilson: Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State.
