The official start of free agency is on Wednesday. The legal tampering period is underway, however. Teams are allowed to contact the agents of free agents and begin to the lay the groundwork on new contracts. There have already been reports of other teams contacting Jets free agents and reports of players who might interest the Jets. There have also been trades agreed to by NFL teams that will officially take place in the next few days.

The big story is the ongoing Ryan Fitzpatrick saga. Reports have emerged indicating the quarterback and the Jets are not close to a new deal and that it is likely he will test his value on the open market. This could totally change the approach the Jets take to the offseason.
