Linebacker Erin Henderson is days away from free agency. Connor Hughes reports the Jets have made him an offer.
Per a source, the #Jets have made an offer to Erin Henderson, but a deal won't be signed before FA. Going to let him hear others

It has been noted that due to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Jets cannot sign Henderson to a deal more than the minimum before free agency begins. We will have to wait and see whether some other team is interested.
Henderson could be a relatively important part of the Jets' offseason plans. He signed for a cheap contract last season after sitting out 2014. He was looking to rebuild his career after it was threatened by some personal issues. As the season went along, his playing time increased.
Since he was only a part-time player, he likely will be cheap. The Jets have a vacancy at his position, and their cap situation will likely require an inexpensive replacement. One who knows the defense and has played well in it would be nice.
