Jets Draft Rumors: Team Will Work Out Eight Rutgers Players

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

Rutgers beat writer Dan Duggan reports eight Draft prospects from Rutgers will work out for the Jets next week.

Teams are allowed to bring in 30 players without local ties to their facilities for predraft workouts. This is a bit of a loophole. The players Duggan lists do not count against that total of 30 since they come from Rutgers and are thus considered local prospects.

Keeping true with the Jets' need to improve their special teams, a kicker and a punter are both on the list. Neither player had a great record of success in college, though, so this might be a case of due diligence.

Wide receiver Leonte Caroo is considered the top prospect among the players the Jets are working out in this group.
