After the Browns signed Robert Griffin III, it seemed unlikely they would trade for Colin Kaepernick. Ian Rapoport confirmed as much. He also indicated the Jets no longer have interest in trading for the 49ers quarterback.

This is not a huge surprise. It is not clear whether the Jets ever had anything more than cursory interest in the former second round pick out of Nevada. The rumored interest the Jets had always seemed to be more of a ploy in negotiations with Ryan Fitzpatrick than anything else.
I do not think Kaepernick is an attractive trade target for the Jets. He comes with many of the same serious flaws as Robert Griffin III, but the Jets would also have to give up an asset to trade for him.
It is Fitzpatrick or bust for the Jets.
