The league owners' meeting gets underway today in Boca Raton, Florida. Perhaps the biggest items on the official docket are various proposed rule chances.
It is worth noting that Mike Maccagnan will be in Boca Raton for the meetings. So will important figures from the front offices of other teams.
It is not necessarily guaranteed that anything big will happen, but when you have the top decision-makers from the teams all in one place meeting face to face, there clearly is the potential for discussion of offseason moves. There is a possibility teams start laying groundwork for trades.
Are the Jets interested in trading Muhammad Wilkerson? To this point, there has not been much to suggest any serious interest unless they are blown away by an offer. Could they swing a trade for a quarterback? How about gauging interest for potential moves in the upcoming NFL Draft?
This is more speculation than substance, but do not be surprised if rumors start to fly over the next few days. The big decision-makers are together.
