This should not be a major surprise. 2014 was the only time in the last six years that Colon's season did not end with a serious injury. In 2015 his season ended on injured reserve after a Week 3 MCL sprain. He tried to play through it, but the injury ultimately finished his year.
At this point, Colon could probably only be trusted on for depth. It might be a challenge to make it through an entire sixteen game season.
Colon came to the Jets in 2013 after spending his first seven seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a fourth round pick out of Hofstra in 2006.
