New York Jets free agency 2016: News, rumors, signings, updates, more for Tuesday

Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

Free agency has been officially open for just under a week. Teams have been able to speak with free agents for just over a week.

The Jets made a couple of bottom of the roster moves on Monday. Tight end Kellen Davis was retained on a cheap deal. Kenbrell Thompkins reportedly is going to sign his one year tender to remain with the team. Davis could be in the mix at tight end again. Thompkins could help provide the Jets some depth at wide receiver. He did not see much playing time last season, but he did show a few flashes when called upon.

Steelers free agent and potential Damon Harrison replacement Steve McLendon came in for a visit.

Finally, the quarterback situation remained at a stalemate. There is still no news on the Ryan Fitzpatrick front.
