Mark Sanchez Traded to Broncos

The Philadelphia Eagles have traded quarterback Mark Sanchez to the Broncos for a conditional late round pick.

Sanchez was a first round pick of the Jets in 2009 and remained with the team through 2014.

I think the real tie in from the Jets perspective here is what this means for Denver's quarterback situation. Like the Jets, the Broncos need to find a new starting quarterback.

I am not sure this changes much. The Broncos are trying to win a Super Bowl. Are they really comfortable with having Sanchez start games for them? My guess is they made this trade with the idea of making Sanchez their backup. He is making backup money and has a backup skillset. I tend to doubt this ultimately takes them out of the Colin Kaepernick sweepstakes or the Ryan Fitzpatrick sweepstakes. We will have to wait to find out, though.
