As Ryan Fitzpatrick's future with the Jets continues to hang in the balance, the team is taking every precautionary step in case the 33-year old quarterback decides to move on. The organization was reportedly engaging in trade talks with the 49ers for Colin Kaepernick, and now ESPN's Adam Schefter announced that the Jets scheduled a visit with RG3 today.

Despite their continued interest in other quarterbacks, Gang Green is just being careful by putting contingency plans in place in case Fitzpatrick moves on. In addition, these reports could be used as leverage by the team in negotiations.

As the former face of the Redskin's franchise, a concussed Griffin was benched in the beginning of the season in favor of Kirk Cousins, who ended up stealing the job and performing very well down the stretch. Griffin had a terrific rookie year in 2012, throwing for 3,200 yards and gaining an additional 815 on the ground, while tossing 20 touchdowns and only five interceptions. Since then, RG3 has been hampered by injuries and was recently released.
