New York Jets free agency tracker 2016: News, rumors, signings, updates, more for Friday

Today is the third official day of free agency in the NFL.

In the first two days, the Jets have had a focus on their backfield. They entered the offseason with only one running back under contract, Zac Stacy. They have added Matt Forte and Khiry Robinson and re-signed Bilal Powell.

Otherwise, it has been a quiet first few days. That was not unexpected. Given the team's finances, there was not going to be the type of flexibility to go on a spending spree that there was a year ago (or potentially will be next year).

Now that the first wave of free agency is over, I would not be surprised to see the Jets get more active. Much of the top talent is off the board, which means the market has been set.  Now the Jets can look for low cost players who might be able to improve the team.
