Adam Schefter of ESPN was on the Michael Kay Show today. Given the stall in the Ryan Fitzpatrick negotiations, he discussed the Jets' quarterback situation where he said the following.
"I think they're OK with Geno Smith, they're comfortable with that..." - @AdamSchefter w/ @RealMichaelKay @DonLagreca and @Rosenbergradio

It remains to be seen whether this is accurate. It is entirely plausible this was put out to try and exert pressure on Fitzpatrick. It seems to be a popular theory today that the Jets allowed word to get out that they were interested in trading for Colin Kaepernick to try and gain some leverage on Fitzpatrick.
I think people have dug in on their positions on Geno Smith, and how people feel about him will likely determine whether or not they believe Schefter.
In the meantime there will not be movement on Fitzpatrick until he lowers his demands, the Jets raise their offer, or some other team is willing to give Fitzpatrick what he wants.
