Earlier this week, a rumor came out that beleaguered 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick had interest in coming to the Jets. According to Jason LaCanfora, that interest is not mutual.
Bottom line with Kaepernick - jets have not and are not interested. Colin has wanted out for quite some time and this impending divorce...

Was reported months ago. Hiring of Chip Kelly changed nothing. He's done nothing to build a relationship and a trade remains very likely...

Kap continues to rehab daily in Vail and will do so into the spring. No plans to be in San Fran for the Super Bowl or anything else...

There really isn't any reason for the Jets to want Kaepernick either.
If people want Kaepernick to replace Ryan Fitzpatrick, I see that as proof the grass really is always greener on the other side. He peaked three years ago and has gotten progressively worse the longer he has been in the league. I think at times the expression, "the league caught up to him," is overused, but it fits in Kaepernick's case. He has not developed as a passer at all. There isn't even really a case that he has been better than Ryan Fitzpatrick over the last two seasons.
Kapernick only comes with the same laundry list of excuses we have heard about other young quarterback and the same vague list of attributes that allegedly give him potential (big arm, athleticism, youth, Playoff wins years ago). This was never realistic and with good reason.
