Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians was effusive in his praise of Jets head coach Todd Bowles yesterday at the NFL Combine. Arians said the Miami Dolphins made a grave mistake not hiring Bowles when he was their interim head coach in 2011.
More Arians on Bowles: "Brilliant young man, and he's a great teacher. It's not what you know. Can you teach it? And he can teach it."

Arians on Bowles: "Miami screwed it up a long time ago. He should have been the head coach there when he was the interim head coach."

Arians coached Bowles in college at Temple. Bowles also worked under Arians as Cardinals defensive coordinator in 2013 and 2014, leading to Bowles being hired as head coach of the Jets.
Obviously it remains to be seen whether Bowles will be successful with the Jets. One thing that is clear is the Dolphins did not make the right decision hiring Joe Philbin instead of Bowles.
