Per various sources, the Jets have released Antonio Cromartie. Seth Walder has the tweet below.

The move will save the Jets 8 million against the cap. There was a lot of excitement about "putting the band back together" with Cromartie and Darrelle Revis, who were the starting cornerbacks when the Jets last went to the playoffs 5 years ago, but like most reunion tours, it didn't work out as well as the first time. Cromartie really struggled at the beginning of the year and though he did improve late in the season, there was no way the Jets could justify bringing him back at that price tag. I wouldn't rule out Cromartie coming back for cheaper, but for now, it looks like the Jets will roll forward with Buster Skrine, Marcus Williams, Dexter McDougal, Darrin Walls, and Dee Milliner.
