2016 NFL Mock Draft: Recent Roundup of Jets Picks

Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

Who do recent mocks have the Jets drafting? Let's take a look.

Pete Prisco (CBS)

20. New York Jets

Jarran Reed, DT, Alabama: They will likely lose nose tackle Damon Harrison to free agency. So this guy would be a nice replacement.

Lance Zierlein (NFL.com)

20. New York Jets

VERNON BUTLER DT LOUISIANA TECH

Surprise! With Mo Wilkerson's contract talks bogged down, franchising him makes sense, but finding a future replacement with pass-rushing ability along the defensive front makes sense as well.

Matt Miller (Bleacher Report)

20. Jets RB Ezekiel Elliott, Ohio State

20. Jets RB Ezekiel Elliott, Ohio State

The Jets could go a lot of ways with this pick. They have a total of 23 players who are out of contract. They also have a GM who, if we are to go on his 2015 form, will draft Best Player Available. Free Agency should help give us a clearer picture but as it stands, and given the limited options here in this CMD, I can't see the Jets passing on Ezekiel Elliott in this scenario. Bilal Powell was a priority signing for Mike Maccagnan when he first took the GM job. That may signal his desire to have Powell back again next season. Chris Ivory has publicly stated that the team may not be able to afford to bring him back, so his return looks a little less unlikely. If we are to move on from either, the dynamic Elliott would a great replacement.
