Jets Waive RB C.J Spiller & WR Jeremy Ross

NFL: Los Angeles Rams at New York Jets Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

It's not the most surprising or exciting move, but the Jets have officially waived C.J Spiller according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport

The Jets signed Spiller at the start of November, potentially trying to catch some of the old magic. However the former 1,000 yard rusher showed there wasn't much left in the tank as he amassed 3 rushing attempts for 9 yards and 1 reception for 7 yards in 4 games with the Jets.

Last night Spiller received more carries and more targets than Bilal Powell, which is just completely unacceptable. Hopefully this signals the Jets intent to integrate Powell into the game plan a little more over the final month of the season.

Spiller will go forward and try and catch on with his 4th team of the year after spending time with the Saints, Seahawks and Jets this year.

The Jets also announced that they had waived WR and kick returner Jeremy Ross. Ross failed to make any impression on the offence and averaged just 20.4 yards on his kick returns this year.
