Todd Bowles announced in his postgame press conference tonight that Bryce Petty will start the remaining four games on the schedule for the Jets in 2016.
Bowles: Bryce Petty will start the final 4 games at QB. That was the plan entering today and is not a result of tonight's game.

It was only a matter of time before Petty stepped into the starting lineup. We all knew it was coming. We only didn’t know when it would come. It might have happened even sooner had Petty not suffered that injury in the preseason finale against the Eagles that cost him so much practice time.
For his part, Petty has not looked very capable of handling the job in the limited action he has seen. There isn’t anything to be gained by running Ryan Fitzpatrick out there, however. Christian Hackenberg apparently is not at a point where he playable either. Maybe Petty can grow and show enough over the final four weeks to create some degree of optimism. If not, the Jets will at least have a higher Draft pick.
