Sheldon Richardson Bashes Brandon Marshall

NFL: New York Jets at San Francisco 49ers Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

When you’ve done nothing to justify your salary this season with your play and created a number of embarrassing headlines for your employer, it might be a good idea to lay low. If you have a problem with a teammate, you might address it internally, and communicate calmly with that teammate in a direct manner to try and put the troubles behind you.

Or if you’re Sheldon Richardson, you can bash him to the media and create a giant headache for your team.

Look, I don’t know whether Marshall has done anything negative. Neither do you. It doesn’t really matter either way.

Richardson is in a glass house talking about embarrassing the team. He’s one of the biggest underachievers on the roster, which is saying something. This means he has now has produced twice as many embarrassing public headlines (3) as sacks (1.5).

No matter the issue, this was not the way to handle it. Now everybody in the locker room will have to deal with this distraction because of Richardson’s selfishness.

If this regime wants any shred of credibility, Richardson should not be allowed to suit up next Sunday, and he seems to be writing his own ticket out of town.
