Former Jets running back Joe McKnight was tragically killed Thursday in a shooting.

McKnight was drafted by the Jets in the fourth round in 2010. He lasted with the team until preseason of 2013. He memorably blocked a punt that was returned for the game-tying touchdown in the fourth quarter of New York’s Week 1 2011 win over the Dallas Cowboys. He led the NFL in kickoff return average in 2011.

Our prayers go out to Joe’s loved ones after this unspeakable tragedy. He was only 28.
