The Jets won. That means we give out a game ball (or an anti-anti-game ball if you prefer).
There are plenty of candidates. We usually try to avoid the quarterback whenever possible, but you can still make a case for Bryce Petty. Getting your first win in a 14 point road comeback is a special circumstance. Robby Anderson also displayed some heroics.
I am going with Bilal Powell, though. Petty was up and down (understandably). This was Powell’s game once Matt Forte left. The Jets tried to stay balanced offensively to protect Petty, and Powell got the lion’s share of the carries. He responded with 145 yards on 29 carries, and a pair of scores that included the overtime winner. Without a single 20 yard run, he was more steady than spectacular. It was the steady performance the Jets needed, though.
That’s why he gets my game ball. Who gets yours?
