It certainly wasn’t the prettiest effort.
It certainly wasn’t the game America was watching.
It certainly won’t live on in the pantheon of memorable NFL overtime games.
The Jets got their fourth win of the season, though, defeating the San Francisco 49ers 23-17 in overtime in San Francisco. Considering how it looked like the Jets were on the verge of being run out of the gym by a one win team a few minutes into the game, I’ll take it.
Bryce Petty got off to the worst start imaginable, but he ultimately made some big plays with his arm and his legs, registering the first win of his NFL career in comeback fashion. His best throw was his last one, a beautiful 26 yard strike to Robby Anderson while flushed left by pressure.
Bilal Powell finished with 145 yards on the ground and 2 touchdowns, including the 19 yarder in overtime to win it.
The defense shook off a brutal start to put together an impressive second half.
