Yesterday we discussed three pleasant surprises for the Jets at the bye week? Who are some candidates for most disappointing player? The list could go on and on, but let’s stick with three here.
Darrelle Revis: I think going into this season, few were expecting to ever again see the Revis of 2008 through 2011, but it seemed reasonable to expect the Revis of 2015. Sure, there would be a few bad days at the office, but he was supposed to be a quality number one cornerback. The season started with an ugly performance against A.J. Green and has not gotten any better. Revis now appears to be an obvious cap casualty at the end the season.
Ryan Fitzpatrick: I hesitated to put him in the disappointing column because how surprising is it to see a 33 year old player fall back to earth after a career year? This isn’t just falling back to earth, though. Fitzpatrick hasn’t been this bad since early in his career. He wasn’t like this in Houston, Tennessee, or Buffalo past his first season. This isn’t just regressing to his career averages. This is falling past that and into being perhaps the worst quarterback in the league.
Muhammad Wilkerson: Wilkerson has pretty much been everything you do not want a player to be fresh off a new contract. His production is way down and worse, there apparently have been problems with his commitment to the team.
