The New York Jets have announced that quarterback Bryce Petty will make his first NFL start today against the Los Angeles Rams. The Jets also announced the following inactive players for the game: center Nick Mangold, wide receiver Devin Smith, linebacker Bruce Carter, offensive tackle Brandon Shell, linebacker Josh Martin, cornerback Marcus Williams and quarterback Christian Hackenberg.
If Petty is getting the start because Ryan Fitzpatrick's knee is problematic, the inactive status of Hackenberg could prove to be a problem should Petty get injured during the game.
