Which Jets Deserve A Spot In Your Starting Lineup?

Jets Fantasy Football Outlook Week 10

Back again in Week 10 with the Jets Fantasy Four Downs. Here are four fantasy options for the Jets with advice on how to use them heading into Week 10.

First Down- Matt Forte- Play- It is looking more certain that Ryan Fitzpatrick will be under center for the upcoming game against the Los Angeles Rams, which means Forte is a good fantasy play. The Rams know how to get to the quarterback and I expect a similar performance from Forte as last week. The Rams know the Jets can’t win rushing so they will look to get after Fitz. Draws and screens will be there for Forte and if he shows the explosiveness through the hole like last week against the Dolphins, this will be a good week to keep Forte in the starting lineup.

Second Down- Jets Defense/ST- Play- The Jets Defense faces the Los Angeles offense who are 31st in total offense. Jeff Fisher alluded to getting Todd Gurley the ball more often in the coming week but the Jets Defense has one golden stat and that is being #4 in the NFL for rush yards against. Gurley has been considered a fantasy bust this year and the Jets will continue controlling the line of scrimmage with the defensive line. The Rams are just as lost as the Jets with their quarterback play so look for their defense to step it up this week. Gurley hasn’t topped 100 yards yet this year and Case Keenum has only one 300 yard game this year.

Third Down- Ryan Fitzpatrick- Sit- Doesn’t take much of an expert to give you this heads up, but stay away from Fitzpatrick. He is a Fantasy nightmare with all the turnovers he has this year. He is not worth it even in an emergency pinch for a QB. His knee may still be an issue and he’s facing an extremely tough defensive front headlined by Aaron McDonald. If you are in a quarterback pinch, both Joe Flacco against the Browns and Blake Bortles against Houston are better matchups than Fitzpatrick this week. Flacco is only owned in 31% of Leagues (is he Elite??) so he can be a waiver wire pick up and play. Bortles is more highly owned but pops up on the waiver often.

Fourth Down- Jalin Marshall- Sit- Last week against the Dolphins was a break out week for Marshall as a receiver. He had 3 catches on 4 targets and caught his first NFL touchdown. He looked tough running after the catch and created mismatches in the slot. He will get a few more looks this week, and we know Chan Gailey will continue to throw the ball until the end, but Jalin Marshall is just not ready to be picked up on the Fantasy wire. He will continue to grow as a great receiving prospect for the Jets but remains a free agent in Fantasy Value. Marshall has now made the Fantasy scouting report this year with Robbie Anderson and Charone Peake. If these receivers continue to work and grow the Jets have some bright futures to look forward to.
