Thursday Night Football, week 9. Tonight we have an AFC North matchup. The 0-9 Cleveland Browns travel to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland to take on the 4-4 Baltimore Ravens.
The Browns come into this game winless and in the midst of a complete tear down and rebuild operation. They have accumulated draft picks and committed to a youth movement. Heading that youth movement is rookie quarterback Cody Kessler, a 2016 3rd round draft pick who has been surprisingly effective in limited action this year. The Browns also feature emerging star wide receiver Terrelle Pryor Sr. as well as 2016 first round pick Corey Coleman starting opposite Pryor, giving the Browns an inexperienced but dangerous set of weapons for Kessler.
Opposing the Browns are the Baltimore Ravens, currently tied for first place in the underwhelming AFC North. The Ravens feature disappointing veteran Joe Flacco at quarterback, mired in the midst of one of the worst years of his career. Flacco is joined in the Ravens attack by wide receiver Mike Wallace, having his best season in five years, and running back Terrance West. The Ravens have been devastated by injuries this year with 14 players on injured reserve and another five players ruled out for this game.
The Ravens need to win this game to keep pace in the AFC North. A loss to the lowly Browns would be devastating for the Ravens' playoff chances. The Browns are just looking to break through into the win column for the first time in the 2016 season.
