Tom Brady, like Old Man River, just keeps rolling along. In a revenge game for the Patriots after a rare shutout at the hands of the Buffalo Bills earlier in the year, Tom Brady led the Patriots to a 41-25 pummeling of the Bills. Fittingly, the margin of victory was the exact same 16 points by which the Bills beat a Brady-less team a few weeks ago. Brady threw for 300+ yards and four touchdowns against Rex Ryan's vaunted defense, and Chris Hogan and Rob Gronkowski combined for 200 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The Patriots upped their record to 7-1 as the last small chance of anyone else winning the AFC East expired. Buffalo fell to 4-4 as Rex struggles to finally put up his first winning season since 2010.
The Miami Dolphins were idle as they enjoyed their bye week this week.
With the Jets win and the Bills loss the Jets have somehow managed to lift themselves back to within just one game of second place in the AFC East, despite remaining in the cellar.
Here are the current standings in the AFC East Division:
- Patriots 7-1
- Bills 4-4
- Dolphins 3-4
- Jets 3-5
