Here are four fantasy options for the Jets with advice on how to use them heading into Week 8.
First Down- Quincy Enunwa- Play- The Jets get the Browns in Week 8, and it could be another big game for Enunwa. Last week he showed off his speed in catching a short pass and taking it to the house untouched. I haven’t seen that type of explosive speed in green and white in a long time. Enunwa continues to produce when the ball is in his hands. The Browns have let up more passing yards then the Jets, as unbelievable as that seem. He is a great WR2 play in Weekly Fantasy, especially PPR leagues. He showed the spark the Jets need on offense, and they will get the ball in his hands hoping for something similar this week.
Second Down- Jets Defense – Play- The Jets Defense should have a big week in Fantasy against the Browns. This doesn’t mean we can expect big passing plays to be totally avoided, but the Browns are winless with a rookie quarterback which is a great situation for sacks and turnovers. Turnovers and sacks are what gain points in Fantasy. The Jets allowed only SIX yards rushing against the Ravens. Additionally, Cleveland has let up the third most sacks in the NFL. Sheldon Richardson’s big game last week inspires confidence, and Muhammad Wilkerson’s potential may return to add even more firepower to the front seven.
Third Down- Ryan Fitzpatrick- Sit-This guy has an uncanny knack for finding his way back under center. I can’t think of another QB who has had this many opportunities arise in a career. The last time Fitz came back from a benching he threw 6 TD’s, but we won’t see that against the Browns. He will have a productive day but if you are looking for an emergency starter this week there are better waiver wire QBs available. Keep an eye on Carson Wentz against Dallas or Sam Bradford against the Bears.
Fourth Down- Matt Forte- Play- Forte is likely to get most of the touches. He has not been used as often in the pass game as expected but is coming off a 100 yard game, and Cleveland has allowed the 7th most rushing yards per game this year. There are not many games where the Jets have so many favorable matchups, but when facing a winless Browns team it may be a good week to be a homer and play your favorite New York Jets.
