Week 7 AFC East Roundup

Here is how the AFC East did in week 7 of the NFL season.

Week 7 finally saw a New York Jets win.  Unfortunately two of the three other AFC East teams also won, keeping the Jets mired in the division cellar.

Tom Brady did what he usually does against the Steelers, leading the Patriots to a 27-16 win in Pittsburgh, the Patriots'  sixth win in seven games as they march inexorably to yet another AFC East title.  This upped Brady's career record against the Steelers to 7-2, and the seven wins against the Steelers represent Brady's second most against any non-division opponent, topped only by his 10 wins against the ColtsLeGarrette Blount had a big day, bludgeoning the Steelers for a season high 127 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.

The Bills and the Dolphins squared off against each other in a divisional showdown. The Dolphins came out on top 28-25, as Jay Ajayi became just the third back in modern NFL history to rush for 200+ yards in back to back games.

The Dolphins have now won two straight as they try to claw their way back from a 1-4 start to the season.

Here are the current standings in the AFC East Division:

  1. New England 6-1
  2. Buffalo 4-3
  3. Miami 3-4
  4. Jets 2-5
