Monday Night Football, week 7. Tonight we have an AFC showdown. The 4-2 AFC South division leading Houston Texans travel to Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado to take on the 4-2 AFC West division leading Denver Broncos.
This game has one overriding theme: the return of Brock Osweiler. After serving a four year apprenticeship as the backup to Peyton Manning in Denver, Osweiler expected to take over as the new starting quarterback upon Manning's retirement. It didn't work out that way. Denver's GM John Elway was not all that impressed with Osweiler and did not offer him anywhere near the kind of contract Osweiler expected. As a result Osweiler moved on and signed a rich contract with the Texans, and the Broncos said goodbye, good luck and good riddance. The Broncos then drafted their quarterback of the future in Paxton Lynch.
In Houston Osweiler has been pretty bad thus far, looking very much like a free agent bust for the Texans. Coming back to Denver for the first time, Osweliler will have major motivation to show the Broncos they made a mistake in letting him go. The Broncos would like nothing better than to destroy their former backup quarterback on national television and show the world they made the right decision in moving on from Osweiler.
This one's a mile high grudge match. Should be fun. Enjoy the game everybody. Discuss the game here. The usual rules apply. Do not ask for links to illegal broadcasts of games. Do not provide them either.
