The Jets trail the Seahawks 14-10 at halftime at MetLife Stadium.
On paper, this was something resembling the script the Jets wanted. The offense has not gone three and out. The unit has put together drives to eat time even when not scoring to shorten the game and limit the amount of time Seattle’s offense has been on the field.
The Jets have also done a good job in the field position battle.
The problem is that the defense has been beaten through the air, allowing a pair of long touchdown drives. Russell Wilson is playing a brilliant game, but the Jets have helped aid that performance with some breakdowns in coverage.
Seattle led 14-3 before a touchdown right before the half as Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brandon Marshall combined to burn Richard Sherman. The Jets are now in the game.
