Jets wide receiver Eric Decker will miss today’s game against the Seahawks with an injury. It is a serious injury if Adam Schefter is to be believed.
Jets WR Eric Decker's partially torn rotator cuff is worrisome enough that team considered putting him on IR. Robby Anderson could benefit.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) October 2, 2016
Quincy Enunwa might be emerging. Robby Anderson might be getting an opportunity. This is very bad news for the Jets. Any way you slice it, Decker is a very important part of what the Jets do on offense. It sounds like this is not going to be a one week injury. If IR was a serious consideration, Decker seems likely to miss a lot of time going forward.
This is not the news a 1-2 team needs on the day of a tough game, but it is where we are right now. We don’t really know what Anderson can do. The undrafted rookie had a stellar preseason, but asking him to take Decker’s role in the offense seems like a lot to ask so soon.
