The Jets worked out former Raiders fullback Marcel Reece on Tuesday per Mike Florio.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Jets gave fullback Marcel Reece a tryout on Tuesday.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Reece isn’t a fullback in the mold of a conventional lead blocker. He is more of an unconventional weapon out of the backfield. He was a wide receiver timed at 4.4 who the Raiders moved to fullback because Al Davis and 40 time. It actually worked out pretty well, and Reece emerged as a quality weapon.
I am not sure how much the 31 year old Reece still would bring to the table. The Raiders cut him in late September, and he still is available a few weeks later. New England also brought him in for a visit. He certainly could be a guy to watch. The track record is pretty good for this player.
