Jets safety Calvin Pryor only played 45 of the 76 snaps against the Steelers on Sunday. He was not on the injury report heading into the game, and there was no chatter of an injury after the game. Rontez Miles saw 31 snaps, and they did not come at the expense of Marcus Gilchrist, who did not come off the field.
Pryor had a horrendous game against Seattle in Week 4. The rest of his season hasn't been terrible, but he also seems to have taken a step back from a really good 2015 where he emerged as an important part of the defense using his range at the back end of the defense to make a difference. One wonders whether this was the first of the changes to which Todd Bowles alluded a week ago discussing secondary breakdowns.
