In a radio interview today, former Jets special teams coach Mike Westhoff officially ruled out returning to that position, which became open yesterday when the Jets fired Bobby April.

Westhoff had harsh words for the Jets over their decision to let April go.
"I don’t like the fact that only after one year you would fire Bobby April," he said. "I know him, but it’s not like this is a friend of mine. I’m very disappointed in the fact that happened. Frankly, I’ll tell you exactly how I feel. I think it’s cowardice. And that’s a one-word synonym for the two-word phrase I really think."
This is no surprise. Westhoff had already indicated in the past that he was finished with coaching.
As David Vill noted earlier today, Keith Armstrong, the special teams coordinator the Jets tried to hire a year ago, might be available.
